    The Timezones are weirder than you think. Broken Hill in NSW runs on Adelaide time, Lord Howe island only shifts 30 minutes for their daylight savings change and Australian Central West Time is half way between SA and WA, that is 45 minutes from each, and only applies to a 350 km stretch of highway that has 5 towns with a combined population of less than 200

    4:25 20: Croats give to homeless people because we think about money as a useful tool to achieve something, not as a life goal to be rich like in America. Many americans don't realize that, but you transform "money as a tool" to "money as a God"

    regarding high pressure sales. is not just in Corona. I liked Alanya but those evil sales men could make me never return. One even hit my brother because he did not want to talk to him as he walked past him. Having said that thre is some good sales men that I purchased from the day after because I could walk out without them being angry.

    The drinking age in America used to be 18 just about everywhere. People don't care if you are over 18 because 1) they remember when it was 18 and changing the age requirement didn't change anything. 2) You can go to war and die for your country at 18. 3) You can own a gun at 18. 3) You can vote at 18.

    Most of those words that you mentioned are pronounced the Australian way all over the world, except for America. I have worked with people from all over the world and the say all these words the same as in Australia. The bad news sir is that the US is the only exception, what does that tell you. That they are all wrong except the US ?

    There are several things that aren't true or they're very farfetched. For instance, it isn't general rule that Croats don't wear of approve sandals. Majority of people wear these but usually during the summer season during their free out the office time and especially when they're at summer vacation. Sandals aren't worn while going to job since this isn't considered polite or part of good etiquette likewise normally you wouldn't attend theater or church in short trousers or too short skirts. Also, it's not true that men do wear predominantly dark clothes or necessary consider that as a sign of manliness. I'm rather usual grown male and I don't mind a whole variety of colours and styles. And I do use sandals when I'm at my vacation. It is also not true there's small number of gay people in Croatia. Yes, parts of Croatia are more conservative and don't look on public expressions of gay couples love too positive but that doesn't mean there's no gay people or gay parades, clubs... Happy hours aren't that rare either especially in any larger cities through probably not as prevalent as in the US. There are some other misconceptions or even false statements but it would be too long to explain them.

    Melbourne is named after Lord Melbourne who was Prime Minister of England during part of Queen Victoria's reign. I pronounce it Mell-bn (I don't even say the "i" you've added. Cairns is tricky. Apparently the Cans (as in a drink can or food can) is correct but most people in this country say cehns (kind of like you say it but without any emphasis on the "r" in care. You have to hear them spoken for this to make any sense. By the way Brisbane is "Briz-bn" and Canberra is "Cann-bra" (although my husband's Aunt says it the way it's spelt as she is low-socio-economic and not well-educated).

  • @michellewilkes6329
    @michellewilkes6329 Місяць тому

    Just watched your video under the Ryan Was channel. Hate to say it but many of your so-called "Australian" pronunciations only exist in one state, one city, are completely incorrect or are only said that way by uneducated bogans who haven't been taught correct English. I live in South Australia, where we were mostly settled by Germans but are actually more English than the states settled by the English as we got the gentry and they got the criminals who didn't speak properly to begin with. Come to SA and hear words pronounced the way they're supposed to be pronounced. Also, don't try and correct us on words that originate from Indigenous Australian languages, as no-one else will ever get them right.

    Most Australians understand that guns in the US are a constitutionally guaranteed right. I have no problem with that , however, most Australians would argue that the different net effect of the two systems on each particular country, leads to better net outcomes in Australia.
